We’re Back: NMA Conference and Awards

Did you miss us? Our first event of 2020 took place on the 9th January with our NMA Conference and Awards. Straight into the new year with one of our biggest events to get everyone back into work.

Sponsors + Masterclasses

To make sure that everyone who attends our events are meeting the right people we take preferences at registration. Delegates can then work through their personalised agendas on site. We had 9 masterclasses for our delegates to attend at this event.

Check out what one of our sponsors had to say!

As always, a huge thank you to our sponsors for taking part in our events, we hope you get as much out of it as possible!

Conference Speakers

We had 3 incredible speakers throughout the event for you all to see. Two of which were fresh to the Citywire stage. To start us off we had former Scottish conservative party leader, Ruth Davidson, who is one of the central figures in the success of the conservative party in recent years. She gave us an insider perspective on Boris Johnson’s government, the future of Scotland and all things at the heart of Westminster.

Ruth was followed by Gabrielle Walker in the afternoon. She spoke about the intensifying pressures of climate change and the business opportunities that it presents. From a Venice council that voted against climate restrictions that was flooded minutes later, to an American oil refinery, submerged in climate induced floods. Gabrielle presented an array of ironies caused by anthropological climate change. The situation is not all bad though! As Gabrielle reminded us, new initiatives like innovative electric cars and CO2 catching devices serve as examples of man-made solutions worth investing in.

Awards

Of course the most fun to be had from NMA Conference and Awards was the awards ceremony itself. We gave out 9 awards in total, so congratulations to all of the companies who claimed one!

To round off the awards we had comedian and Radio 4 presenter Simon Evans. His set included a humorous examination of the rigors of daily existence and a self-deprecatory take on his home town: Brighton. We hope you enjoyed him and the evening!

If you feel like you’ve missed out, our Wealth Manager Conference & Awards is in March. We look forward to seeing you then!
